The end of summer and beginning of summer have been full of work, work, work… But a lot of fun work!
I’ve been working on this project called Design afloat which was a sales exhibition with products by 13 designers and craftspeople on the oldest lightship in Finland. The project was an initiative from the Swedish Cultural Foundation (Svenska kulturfonden) and realized in co-operation with four Swedish-speaking crafts organisations in Finland as part of the official programme of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.The project is now over and I’m currently writing the reports for it. It seems that most of us are very happy with this as a first effort towards creating a discussion about design amongst the Finnish-Swedish community and highlighting designers that are part of it, and that everyone thinks it should live on somehow and could be developed even further.
