Riikka Wallin – founder and manager of wiikkis
The well-being of people around me and all around the world is what’s most important to me. This is why I have chosen to work with applied arts and sociocultural projects in my professional life.
Also, to ensure my own well-being, I actively work for better working conditions for entrepreneurs and freelancers in the cultural field. Produforum has served as my home base to develop this side of myself and nowadays you can find me at the board meetings of TAKU Trade Union for Arts and Cultural Professionals and at HUB Helsinki. My true passion is working with my colleagues and friends at To Culture With Love, an international network for young professional arts managers and cultural workers which I’m a founding member of. There we work for employment of young people in the cultural field on an international level.
Since September 2014 I am working full-time at the Swedish National Theatre in Finland as a coordinator for the project Nicken NU where we put up new drama, new dramatisations or devised performances together with independent theatre companies.
When I’m not working you’ll most likely find me dancing – at home, at the tram stop or in Nia class.
